University of Minnesota – Needs:

  • Customized sensors to refine the understanding of how disease affects the spectral response of agricultural crops.

Sentera Outcomes and Value:

“Sentera has worked with us to develop, manufacture, and deploy sensors that have refined the understanding of how response of agricultural crops”

“As our research has continues, Sentera responds, ensuring we get the customized sensors that can accurately and reliably collect the data we need”

“When you get the crop and get a map of the whole field, that really give you a full view of what’s going on”

“For example, we’ve done a considerable amount of research into how the soybean aphid damages the crop and how that damage affects the reflectance of light wavelengths. Through our research, we identified three near-infrared wavelengths that appeared to be specifically associated with soybean aphid damage. We talked to Sentera about the possibility of developing a sensor that would isolate those wavelengths, and they were able to produce that sensor for us”
