Introducing FieldAgent™ Notifications

FieldAgent™ Notifications help advisers and growers direct their efforts with precision. This is accomplished by leveraging data from historical, current and future weather, satellite data, human observations, and drone surveys.

The FieldAgent™ Notifications capability was designed to complement and enhance conventional scouting, resulting in an earlier, more accurate detection of plant stress, and an overall improvement of the scouting experience.

How It Works

Weather Data: Weather-based risk assessments are updated daily and notifications are sent when conditions are optimal for pathogen development. This helps ensure scouting activities are planned when risk levels are highest to reduce the chances of missing symptoms and treatment windows.

Satellite Data: Stressed plants have delayed increases in NDVI and often do not reach the same potential as healthy plants. This information, captured with satellite, can be used to find in-field issues by locating stressed areas and spotting sudden, unexpected decreases in NDVI values.

Human Observation: FieldAgent Notifications integrate data from local scouting events to give a better understanding of what pests are being found in specific areas and how close they are to economic thresholds. NDVI zone maps, like the one shown below, identify stressed areas where a scout should spend more time, enabling them to better target their scouting activity.

Drone Observation: The final component of the FieldAgent Notifications tool is drone-based observations. Once a notification indicates scouting is necessary, drone flights truly maximize scouting efficiency and accuracy. The greatest advantage of drone imagery for agriculture is the high spatial resolution of the imagery and enhanced coverage available.
