Board Appointments Bring Commercialization, Product Strategy Experience

ST. PAUL, Minn. – NOV. 30, 2023 – Sentera, a leading provider of AI-powered tools for food and agriculture customers, today announced the appointment of Michael Stern and Anthony Osborne to key advisory and director roles on its Board of Directors, respectively.

Dr. Stern is the former chief executive officer of The Climate Corporation and head of digital farming for Bayer Crop Science. Prior to the Bayer/Monsanto combination, he spent three decades at Monsanto, where he held several leadership roles across technology and business lines, including the row crop businesses across the Americas.

Mr. Osborne joins Sentera’s board after serving in an advisory role for the business. Osborne spent more than 30 years at Bayer and Monsanto in various senior leadership roles across product management, strategy and commercial, including vice president of marketing at The Climate Corporation and senior vice president of North American marketing.

“We are thrilled to have Michael and Anthony joining our board,” said Brian Wenngatz, chief executive officer, Sentera. “2023 has been a year of significant milestone achievement for our precision application enablement technology. We look forward to the expertise that they both bring to help us position Sentera in the market, expand partnerships, and grow and build new channels.”

“I look forward to serving Sentera’s board at such an exciting and transformational time for the organization,” said Stern. “I am excited to work with Brian and the leadership team to help bring its precision application technology to market to continue to solve some of the biggest challenges that the agriscience industry faces.”

“I am delighted to join Sentera’s board of directors,” said Osborne. “After working with Sentera, I’ve been continually impressed by the team’s depth of talent and the potential for the business to advance outcomes for growers and other stakeholders in the food and agriculture system. I look forward to supporting the team and contributing to Sentera’s strategic positioning and execution.”

Osborne served in an advisory role to Sentera as the business built out its AI-powered precision application technology portfolio. The launch product in this offering is Aerial WeedScout, a precision weed control solution that reduces contact herbicide application by up to 70% while preserving yield. This reduces cost, as well as potential environmental exposure and impact.

“Sentera’s precision application technology portfolio offers unparalleled technology that benefits all in the agricultural value chain,” said Osborne. “After seeing how they’ve been able to create a solution to transform weed control, I am excited to help the team expand its offerings into other key challenges for our industry.”

“Aerial WeedScout is poised to transform how the industry approaches weeds management,” said Wenngatz. “We look forward to working with Michael, Anthony, and our entire board of directors as we continue to advance our technology and deliver a proven, scalable solution to the market.”
