Ultra-High-Resolution Aerial Sensor Now Compatible with Freefly Astro

LAS VEGAS – SEP. 6, 2023 – Sentera, the industry-leading provider of ag analytics, today announced that it has expanded its integrations with Freefly Systems, an American manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles, to now include its ultra-high-resolution aerial sensor, the 65R.

“From its lightweight design to its three-frame-per-second capture rate, pairing the 65R with the Freefly Astro delivers a U.S.-made system unlike what’s available on the market today,” said Matt Skelton, aerospace engineer, Sentera. “We are excited to continue to build on our partnership with Freefly and extend compatibility.”

The 65R is the first ultra-high-resolution aerial sensor in its class to deliver seamless drone integration without compromising image quality. With 65 million pixels per frame of global shutter imagery, the 65R produces exceptional imagery; free from distortions and detailed enough to generate RGB imagery, digital surface models (DSMs), and other imagery products.

Astro is Freefly’s latest commercial drone platform with high precision RTK/PPK, LTE cloud connectivity, tablet controller, smart batteries, onboard mission computer and more. Astro is designed, tested, built, and supported by the Freefly team in Woodinville, Washington.

“With the combination of the Astro and the 65R, we’re excited to deliver a drone combination that captures more accurate data to deliver mapping and aerial imagery,” said Matt Isenbarger, chief revenue officer, Freefly Systems. “Our existing integration with Sentera has augmented our role in agriculture, and we look forward to seeing how this pairing accelerates adoption across construction, infrastructure, and environmental monitoring”

Earlier this season, Sentera announced the integration of its 6X Multispectral and Thermal cameras, which offer science-grade multispectral imagery. The Sentera 6X and 65R both mount to the Astro via Freefly Systems’ Smart Dovetail for easy release and installation, making it possible to quickly swap between sensors for a seamless, integrated, and secure solution.

The Freefly Astro with the 65R or 6X is now available for purchase. For more information, visit https://www.sentera.com or https://www.freeflysystems.com
